Davin & Adley Amelia Pumping & Nursing Compression Tank
Type: Tank top
Retail Price: $59.00
Size Tried: XL Busty
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: S Busty-2X Busty (these were the sizes available when I wrote this blog but this brand is overall very size inclusive)
Purpose: Both nursing and pumping
Support Level: Medium
Accessibility: No clips, pull down nursing design. Pull up top layer to pump
Style & Features: Adjustable straps, slightly tighter compression through midsection (but not like too tight), 5 color options available
Where to Buy: Davin & Adley’s website (use code “LWG10” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: I love this tank top. This is my go-to tank. It makes breastfeeding in public more comfortable for me since my entire midsection is covered, and the fabric gives slight compression so I feel more held together (which feels good postpartum!). I love that I can pump in this tank top if I need to, and it always feels seamless to do so (no real extra work, just pull the top up!). I’m a big fan of this company too as they’re a small, woman owned business that is very size inclusive.
Davin & Adley Amelia Pumping & Nursing Crop Cami
Type: Crop cami/longline bra
Retail Price: $49.00
Size Tried: XL
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: S-3X, S Busty - 3X busty
Purpose: Both nursing and pumping
Support Level: Light to medium
Accessibility: No clips, pull down nursing design. Pull up top layer to pump
Style & Features: Adjustable straps, multiple styles - solid back, lace back (like mine) and swim top, a bunch of color options
Where to Buy: Davin & Adley’s website (use code “LWG10” for discount), Amazon (racerback style of same bra)My Thoughts: I love this crop cami. This was the first bra I had from Davin & Adley and it was a game changer for me for pumping and nursing - especially because I wasn’t pumping frequently. I have since received the updated version (mine was the OG version) and the straps are little bit thicker, which I love. I have a larger chest I feel like thicker straps help support better.
Kindred Bravely Sublime Bamboo Maternity & Nursing Longline Bra Top
Type: Longline bra/high neck
Retail Price: $42.90
Size Tried: XL Busty
Fit: TTS/slightly small/tight especially in the V neck under layer
Size Inclusive: S-1X (in regular and busty)
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Light to medium
Accessibility: No clips, lift up top layer and pull down under layer (v neck underneath)
Style & Features: 8 color options, high neck design, removable pads
Where to Buy: Kindred Bravely’s website (use code “HannahV15” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: I really like this bra. I think it’s unique and great for summer. It’s super cute paired with high waisted shorts! I do feel like I’m slightly spilling out of the under part sometimes if my breasts are super full which is frustrating. I think it’s pretty noticeable (at least to me) when it happens - and I think if I had a darker color it might be less noticeable.
Kindred Bravely French Terry Racerback Nursing & Sleep Bra
Type: Bra
Retail Price: $36.90
Size Tried: XL
Fit: TTS/slightly small
Size Inclusive: S-2X (in regular and busty)
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Light
Accessibility: No clips, crossover design
Style & Features: 11 color options, super soft fabric, straps are not adjustable, no pads
Where to Buy: Kindred Bravely’s website (use code “HannahV15” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: This bra is really soft and fits surprisingly well on my shorter torso despite the fact that the straps aren’t adjustable. I can see why this would work for some people for nursing and sleep especially (seriously it’s really soft), but unfortunately this deeper v neck crossover style always causes me to feel like i’m spilling out of it (and at night, I definitely do). This might be fine for some people, but I find it a bit annoying so I don’t reach for this bra often.
Kindred Bravely Sublime® Adjustable Crossover Nursing & Lounge Bra
Type: Bra
Retail Price: $39.90
Size Tried: XL
Fit: TTS/slightly small
Size Inclusive: S-1X (in regular and busty)
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Light-medium
Accessibility: No clips, crossover design
Style & Features: 3 color options, ribbed fabric, straps are adjustable, removable pads
Where to Buy: Kindred Bravely’s website (use code “HannahV15” for discount)My Thoughts: The band on the bottom of this bra constantly rolls up on me, which I find to be frustrating. This could be a non-issue for some people if their midsection was slimmer or potentially if I sized up. But I do like the fact that the straps are adjustable, especially because I am so short, I almost always need my bra straps to be pretty short.
Kindred Bravely Sublime® Hands-Free Pumping & Nursing Tank
Type: Tank top
Retail Price: $56.90
Size Tried: L
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: S-1X (in regular and busty)
Purpose: Both nursing and pumping
Support Level: Medium-high
Accessibility: 2 clip style (1 clip for pumping, must unclip both for nursing)
Style & Features: 2 color options, adjustable straps, no pads
Where to Buy: Kindred Bravely’s website (use code “HannahV15” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: This tank isn’t my favorite. I do like the fact that you can nurse or pump in this tank, but the functionality I think is missing the mark. Unclipping 2 clips to nurse is annoying (albeit a minimal annoyance), and the hole where you insert your flanges is small, making it more difficult to insert and remove your flanges (especially if your flange and connector are all one piece). I love a few of KB’s bras, but this one isn’t my fav.
Kindred Bravely Sublime® Nursing Sports Bra
Type: Sports bra
Retail Price: $49.90
Size Tried: Not sure - they’re so old the tags rubbed off
Fit:
Size Inclusive: S-2X (in regular and busty)
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Medium
Accessibility: Clip down style, sports bra type racer back
Style & Features: 3 color options, adjustable straps, removable pads
Where to Buy: Kindred Bravely’s website (use code “HannahV15” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: This was my go-to nursing bra after having my first. It has been well used and well loved (as is evident by the paint stain). I wouldn’t say that it’s the most supportive of my bras in a sense that I wouldn’t feel comfortable running in it without another bra on top for more support, but I do feel like its supportive.
Momanda Women’s Nursing Bras Longline Sports Breastfeeding V-Neck Sleeveless Crop Tank Top with Built in Bra
Type: Longline bra
Retail Price: $28.00
Size Tried: XL
Fit: Runs small
Size Inclusive: XS-XXL
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Medium
Accessibility: Stretch only (no clips), pull strap down over shoulder to nurse
Style & Features: 8 color options, no adjustable straps, removable pads
Where to Buy: AmazonMy Thoughts: I wouldn’t say this bra is super beginner friendly, especially if breastfeeding still feels awkward for you. You have to pull the strap down your shoulder in order to pull your breast out over top of the bra. It has one thicker strap (the one you pull down to feed) and one thinner strap underneath that’s attached to some extra fabric that helps cover more of your chest for added privacy during feeds. The way this bra works would also make it hard to wear/use with another shirt overtop of it (like a t shirt). So that’s something else to keep in mind. It is nice for summer, as the material is a nice sporty material that could be worn just as a top. The pads are quite thick but they are removable.
Larken X
Type: Longline bra
Retail Price: $52.00
Size Tried: L
Fit: True (but if you’re in between sizes - size down)
Size Inclusive: S-XXL
Purpose: Both nursing and pumping
Support Level: Light to medium
Accessibility: No clips, pull up or down to nurse, unique design for pumping
Style & Features: 5 color options, no adjustable straps, no padding, double lined front, soft thinner sporty material
Where to Buy: Larken’s website, AmazonMy Thoughts: This bra was (and still is) my go to this postpartum. Shortly after I had baby #3 I was having such nipple pain and having anything rough or textured touch my chest was too much. But this bra is so light and I love that theres no clips, slits, or holes. It’s so comfortable and easy to pump or feed in, which makes it great for those early postpartum days when your milk supply is all over the place and you don’t know when you’ll need to pump or if you will at all. The way you pump in this bra is unique, where you create an X with the two layers of fabric to hold your flanges in place. The first time I did it I was a little confused but once I figured out what I was doing, it was super easy. I also heard this tip from another mom once: this bra is easy to wear overtop of another bra when returning to work. You can easily wear a regular bra (so you have the support of that) and throw this overtop so when you have to pump, it’s already there! It’s thin enough that it doesn’t add a ton of bulk under your clothes.
Hatch The 24/7 Nursing Tank
Type: Tanktop
Retail Price: $78.00
Size Tried: L
Fit: Runs small
Size Inclusive: S-XL
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Light
Accessibility: Clip down design
Style & Features: 4 color options, adjustable straps, no padding, super soft fabric, option to clip in the back to make X straps
Where to Buy: Hatch’s website, AmazonMy Thoughts: This tank is made from a super soft material, and I can see how some people might like it, especially for sleep or lounging around the house. It might work better for someone with a smaller chest. For me, though, the band around the ribcage is really tight and there’s virtually no support. For the price, I don’t love it.
Momcozy Nursing Bras for Breastfeeding, YN21 Seamless Ultra Comfort Maternity Bra
Type: Bra
Retail Price: $29.99
Size Tried: L
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: S-3X
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Medium
Accessibility: Clip down design
Style & Features: 6 color options, adjustable straps, no padding, more traditional style bra with good lift
Where to Buy: Momcozy’s Website, AmazonMy Thoughts: This is the only more traditional style bra that I own. It’s supportive in a sense that it gives me a good amount of lift, but not supportive in a sense that it’s good for exercise (especially when you’re larger chested). I think this is a good, affordable bra if you’re looking for a more traditional style.
Love & Fit Everyday Luxe 3.0
Type: Bra
Retail Price: $59.00
Size Tried: L
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: XS-3XL
Purpose: Both nursing and pumping
Support Level: Medium-high
Accessibility: V-neck crossover design, no clips
Style & Features: 8 color options, no adjustable straps, no padding, sporty material with solid back panel
Where to Buy: Love & Fit Website (use code “latchingwithgrace” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: This is the only crossover design bra that I don’t feel like I’m constantly spilling out of. It seems like the panels in the front that cover your breasts are larger than some of the other crossover designs which I think makes it a decent option for those with a larger chest. I like that it is versatile and can be used for pumping or nursing, and it’s easy to use without any clips. I probably could’ve benefited from sizing up, but even with it being a little tighter, the band at the bottom doesn’t roll up. It’s good quality, a soft sporty-like material, and it washes nicely.
Love & Fit Strappy Back 2.0 Nursing Sports Bra
Type: Sports bra
Retail Price: $59.00
Size Tried: L
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: XS-3XL
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: High
Accessibility: Clip down style
Style & Features: 2 color options, adjustable straps, removable padding, sporty material with strappy back design, adjustable band with hook and eye clasps
Where to Buy: Love & Fit Website (use code “latchingwithgrace” for discount), AmazonMy Thoughts: This is the only sports bra that I own that is for nursing that I truly feel like I can run in - which is amazing because since we’ve been going to the gym as a family, there are definitely times I have to pause my workout to nurse my baby. For all of my adult life I feel like I’ve had to wear 2 sports bras when I do any sort of high intensity exercise, so for this bra alone to make me feel secure while working out (with heavy breasts) is huge. There is added fabric when you clip down the bra so that you have a little more coverage, and it’s added in a way that still allows the bra to function seamlessly. However, it is tight. So I do only wear it when I go to the gym and take it off almost immediately when I get home. I probably could benefit from the next size up but I don’t want to sacrifice the support this current size gives me!
Foucome Nursing Tank Tops for Breastfeeding Y-Back Racerback Longline Maternity Sports Bra Workout Crop Top
Type: Longline bra
Retail Price: $29.99
Size Tried: XL
Fit: TTS
Size Inclusive: S-XXL
Purpose: Nursing only
Support Level: Medium
Accessibility: Clip down style
Style & Features: 3 color options, no adjustable straps, non removable padding, strappy back design
Where to Buy: AmazonMy Thoughts: I like this bra because of its length. It looks like it’s a regular tank top which makes it nice to wear out of the house in the summer. But I do experience a little bit of gapping close to my armpits when I wear this. It doesn’t really bother me, and it might not be that way for everyone, but it’s something to be aware of.
Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, there’s no perfect nursing or pumping bra — just the one that works best for your body, your baby, and how you feed them. I hope seeing what I’ve tried (and what I actually wear on repeat) helps you feel more confident picking what’s worth your money — and what’s not.
